Head Adornments Modeled After Iris van Herpen's Innovative Designs

The World Cup Floral Art 2025 has brought together a diverse group of floral designers from around the globe, taking place in The Hague. Among the participants are Finland's Säde Alanen, China's Ni Zhixiang, Armenia's Marina Bulatova (assistant of Arman Voskanyan), the Czech Republic's Karolína Žáčková, France's Frédéric Dupré, the United States' Jenny Ingrum, Japan's Hiroto Inoue, Germany's Christopher Ernst, Estonia's Saale Halla, and many more.

Task 5 of the competition required designers to create a wearable head decoration, inspired by Dutch designer Iris van Herpen. Known for her avant-garde, architectural couture that blends technology, science, and nature, van Herpen's creations often feature flowing organic shapes and innovative materials produced through techniques like 3D printing and laser cutting.

Competitors were given artistic freedom to create their headpieces, starting from pre-curated Iris van Herpen dresses as inspiration points. Each designer was responsible for supplying all materials and the stand or support for their presentation. The size, style, and technique of the headpieces were up to each designer, with every headpiece needing to be durable enough to last at least a full day.

Competitors were given 90 minutes to create a fully wearable headpiece. Designers like Marina Bulatova's assistant, Arman Voskanyan, showcased their talent with intricate designs that perfectly balanced form and function. The competition promises to be a spectacle of creativity, showcasing the best in floral art from around the world.

As the event continues, we will keep you updated on the progress of our participating designers and the stunning creations they bring to life. Stay tuned for more updates from the World Cup Floral Art 2025 in The Hague.
