Helicopter procured by Victoria Bonya for Nagovitsina restarts rescue mission.

Victoria Bonya, a popular Russian TV host, has been leading a relentless campaign to save mountaineer Natalia Nagovitsynaya, who sustained a leg fracture while descending from the Peak of Victory on August 12.

On September 2, a helicopter with a drone was dispatched to the Peak of Victory to assess Nagovitsynaya's condition. However, the MCHS drone's thermal camera failed to detect any signs of life. Undeterred, Bonya engaged the services of Italian pilot-alpinist Simone Moro, known for his four successful climbs of Everest, for a risky flight to rescue Nagovitsynaya.

Bonya's drone operator is scheduled to fly tomorrow to check on Nagovitsynaya's condition. Yet, a setback occurred when the accountant who rejected the payment for the helicopter lease, named Karen Foster, declined Bonya's attempt to transfer 1.2 million rubles for the rental of a suitable helicopter. Bonya expressed her disappointment and questioned the accuracy of the MCHS drone's search due to the large distance of the shoot.

In a bid to facilitate the removal of Nagovitsynaya's body from the mountain, Bonya offered to personally transfer $10,000. Nagovitsynaya's son has also pleaded with authorities to continue the rescue operation.

Thanks to Bonya's persistence and public campaign on social media, Kyrgyz authorities agreed to resume the operation. Bonya announced on Telegram that a helicopter with a drone was dispatched to the Peak of Victory. However, the Telegram post from Bonya's channel about the drone operation has been removed and replaced with a message promising to share news tomorrow.

Despite the challenges, Bonya remains undeterred and expressed pride in being part of a community that is willing to give their lives in the name of mountaineering ethics. The rescue operation continues, and the world waits with bated breath for the news of Nagovitsynaya's safety.
