Hidden Model Y Detected at Giga Texas - Possible High-Performance Variant?

Tesla's Giga Texas factory in Austin is gearing up for a significant Model Y rollout, according to recent developments. The electric vehicle manufacturer seems to be working on additional enhancements for its best-selling SUV, the Model Y.

Industry insiders and drone pilot Joe Tegtmeyer have reported the long-awaited refresh of the Model Y is finally arriving. The sighting of a heavily camouflaged Model Y at Giga Texas suggests the company is finalizing development on new configurations.

Among the potential new releases, Tesla executives have confirmed the development of a 7-seater Model Y and a refreshed Performance edition. The 7-seater Model Y, if true, would expand Tesla's lineup for families seeking extra space. The Performance model, expected to bring significant upgrades in power and handling, is anticipated to offer an exhilarating driving experience.

Reservation holders, including Brandon, have received new Model Y delivery dates between February 22 and March 22. A large batch of new Model Y Launch Edition vehicles is filling the outbound lot at Giga Texas, indicating that deliveries are imminent.

The interior of the spotted Model Y was also covered, raising speculation about Tesla's next move. However, details about the interior updates remain under wraps, adding to the excitement surrounding the upcoming releases.

Tesla executives have confirmed these new configurations, if released later this year, could mark a significant expansion of the Model Y lineup. The 7-seat version of the Tesla Model Y has been orderable in Europe since October 15, 2024, and the updated "Juniper" facelift including a Performance version is expected to begin deliveries in March 2025.

The unexpected twist of the camouflaged Model Y at Giga Texas could indicate the imminent release of these new Model Y configurations. As Tesla continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle technology, the Model Y rollout promises to be an exciting chapter in the company's history.
