High-end California automaker Karma Automotive expands its reach, moving into European markets.
Karma Automotive, the Southern Californian EV manufacturer, has embarked on an exciting new chapter in its journey. In November 2023, the company introduced the Kaveya super coupe GT, marking a significant milestone in its growth.
Marques McCammon, who assumed the presidency of Karma Automotive in March 2023, has been at the helm during this transformative period. McCammon, with a mission to make Karma's vision of a positive impact in the world a reality, emphasises that Karma's success will be defined by its products and more.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary on March 28, Karma also unveiled an updated version of the popular Karma Revero in December 2023. The 3 Generation Karma Revero is set to make its European debut in spring 2024, marking a return to the European markets that set the benchmark for ultra-luxury vehicles.
Karma, an early leader in Range Extended Electric Vehicles, presents unique opportunities in the current market trends. The company has refined its brand narrative and set a clear vision for the future, focusing on corporate culture and collaboration.
In May 2023, Karma halted all vehicle production to focus on quality, a testament to its commitment to delivering premium products. The company has also cut spending on programs not aligned with short- and long-term value.
In a strategic move, Karma Automotive has completed the acquisition of IP and assets from Airbiquity, a software development/engineering company. This acquisition opens relationships with companies such as Toyota, Harley-Davidson, and LiveWire for Karma Automotive.
The management team at Karma is not aiming for the mass market, but rather for a select few buyers who will not experience a sense of compromise with ownership. Another nameplate, the Geyesera, is under development for release in late 2025.
Karma Automotive has started production of zero emission commercial vehicle powertrains, further solidifying its position in the EV market. The company was named a 2023-2024 Great Place to Work, reflecting its commitment to its employees and creating a positive work environment.
As Karma moves forward, McCammon's focus remains on making a positive impact in the world, one premium EV at a time. The future looks bright for this innovative EV manufacturer.
