High-end organization and Sotheby's boost experiential luxury in the Asia Pacific region by offering exclusive travel packages during Hong Kong Luxury Sales Week.
In an exciting new collaboration, The Luxury Group by Marriott International has teamed up with Sotheby's for destination-led experiential travel lots. This partnership, announced by George Hammer, Global Head of Luxury Marketing at Marriott International, exemplifies an immersive and nuanced approach to luxury.
The auction, taking place during Sotheby's Luxury Sales Week in Hong Kong, offers two curated journeys in China and Japan. The first lot takes you on a journey to Jiuzhaigou, a UNESCO World Heritage region on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau. Upon arrival, guests settle into a Lakeview Suite at The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko.
The train journey from Tokyo to Nikko is aboard Spacia X, one of Japan's most refined limited-express trains. Sotheby's specialist leads a specially curated Japanese whisky tasting during the journey, highlighting some of Japan's hidden gems in the country's whisky production.
Upon arrival at The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko, guests accompany a master sushi chef to Toyosu Market, have a bespoke omakase dinner, and personalized cocktails at The Bar. The next day, at dawn, the itinerary culminates in a private meditation session and guided exploration of Lake Chuzenji, led by a senior monk.
The second lot offers a five-day, four-night journey through Japan, starting at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo. This journey includes a stay in the Rissai Valley, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, and three nights in the Rissai Villa, an extraordinary sanctuary with an infinity pool.
Meanwhile, in China, the first lot offers a farm-to-table dinner showcasing the region's seasonal produce. Sotheby's Wine will present a reimagined "Judgement of Paris tasting" offering some of the most exciting, artisan wines being produced in China.
The St. Regis Hong Kong will also be part of this unique collaboration, presenting an exclusive whisky pairing menu at its Michelin-starred restaurant, Rùn, from August 15 to September 30, 2025.
