High School Football Matches in Ephrata to Include Dazzling Pyrotechnics Once More
In the latest Ephrata Borough Council meeting, several key decisions were made and discussions held. Here's a round-up of the main points:
The council discussed a request to install a larger U.S. flag at the intersection of South State and Route 272, known as "The Point." A decision on this matter will be made at the Sept. 8 meeting.
The council also unanimously approved the launching of fireworks at Ephrata High School football games. Brian Bagnall, whose property gives a clear view of War Memorial Field, will launch the display, provided he meets regulations. Bagnall typically launches his fireworks before kickoffs, when the Mountaineers score, and if they win.
Mainspring of Ephrata made a request to install a bike rack at West Main and South State streets. The council will vote on this installation at its Sept. 8 meeting.
The borough police department will find out whether the Youth Aid Panel children could do the work of painting over the yellow markings in downtown Ephrata. The name of the youth sentenced by the juvenile court to paint over the markings is not publicly provided.
