Hilton celebrates centennial milestone in hospitality sector, honored for continuous leadership and groundbreaking innovation by WTTC.

In a celebration of a century of innovation and service, the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has extended its warmest congratulations to Hilton on its 100th birthday.

Hilton's journey began in 1919 when Conrad Hilton acquired The Mobley Hotel in Texas, marking the first property in a collection that now spans 5,600 hotels and 17 brands. Over the years, Hilton has left an indelible mark on the Travel & Tourism sector with its groundbreaking innovations.

One of Hilton's earliest breakthroughs was the introduction of televisions in guestrooms, a first for the hotel industry. This was followed by the popularization of room service, making stays more comfortable and convenient for guests. Hilton also made history by being the first hotel group to implement a multi-hotel reservation system, simplifying the booking process for travellers worldwide.

Another significant milestone was the opening of the first underwater suite, showcasing Hilton's commitment to pushing boundaries and offering unique experiences.

Chris Nassetta, the current leadership of Hilton, has continued this tradition of innovation. During his tenure, he has served as Chairman of the WTTC and demonstrated a commitment to the global Travel & Tourism sector. Notably, under his leadership, Hilton introduced a 100% satisfaction guarantee, further solidifying its reputation for excellent service.

The WTTC, recognising Hilton's contributions over the last century, has commended the Hilton family for their hard work and continued innovation. Gloria Guevara, President & CEO of WTTC, extended her congratulations, highlighting Hilton's significant impact on the Travel & Tourism sector.

As Hilton's centenary celebrations continue, more information can be found on their official website. The WTTC looks forward to seeing what the next 100 years hold for this iconic global hospitality company.
