On Saturday, August 17, 2024, Solingen Clinic in Germany will host an informative event titled "Day of open doors - Certified Endoprosthetics Center Solingen." The event, taking place from 10:00 to 13:00 in Meeting Room 3, aims to provide insights into the world of joint replacement surgeries.

The focus of the event is on hip and knee joint wear, discussing when to consider surgery as a viable option. Arthritis, often associated with the elderly, can also affect individuals in the prime of their lives due to sports injuries or long-term improper loading, such as at the workplace. In advanced arthritis, when conservative treatment methods like dietary supplements, ointments, painkillers, or physical therapy no longer provide long-term relief, an artificial knee or hip joint - a so-called endoprosthesis - can be an option.

Dr. Oliver Voß, Director of the Endoprosthetics Center Solingen and senior physician of the clinic for trauma surgery, orthopedics, and hand surgery, will give a lecture on joint replacement of the knee. Dr. Henning Quitmann, the chief surgeon in the Endoprosthetics Center Solingen and the leading physician for minimally invasive endoprosthetics, will present a lecture on minimally invasive procedures for joint replacement of the hip.

Both the selection of the prosthesis and the surgical technique used to anchor it in the joint are crucial for a successful healing and recovery process. After the lectures, there will be a parcours with the team of the therapy center (physiotherapy, ergotherapy) in Meeting Room 2, where participants can learn simple exercises for home training under guidance.

Registration for the event is required by August 15. You can register by email at [email protected] or by phone at 0212-547-0. Don't miss this opportunity to gain valuable knowledge about joint replacement surgeries and take the first step towards regaining your mobility.
