Eintracht Frankfurt began their 2023/24 Bundesliga campaign with a resounding victory over TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, securing a 3-1 win at the Commerzbank-Arena. The victory marks the club's first consecutive wins at the start of a season in 13 years.

In the 17th minute, Ritsu Doan opened the scoring for Frankfurt with a curled shot from approximately 18 meters. The second goal came in the 27th minute, as Doan capitalised on a one-two with Arthur Theate in a swift counter-attack, setting up Doan for his brace.

The third goal arrived in the 51st minute, with Can Uzun scoring after a fine pass from Doan. Uzun's goal secured the win for Frankfurt, who remained dominant throughout the match.

Despite taking a comfortable lead, Frankfurt eased off slightly, but never lost control. The home team continued to create opportunities, with Jean-Matteo Bahoya coming close to scoring a third goal, only for TSG defender Robin Hranac to clear the ball off the line. Ansgar Knauff also had a chance to extend Frankfurt's lead, but the opportunity was not converted.

Hoffenheim struggled to create clear chances throughout the match, with their only goal coming in the 90+1 minute from an offside position. The visitors' only other significant threat came from Grischa Prömel, but Frankfurt's defence held firm.

Eintracht Frankfurt's impressive performance is being widely recognised by experts, who consider them as the sharpest challengers to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. The team's current coach, Dino Toppmöller, has been instrumental in this success, serving since July 1, 2023.

The victory came without key players Mario Götze and Jonathan Burkardt, who were both absent due to muscle problems and back pain respectively. Elye Wahi stepped in for Burkardt in the lineup, making a notable contribution to the team's performance.

As Frankfurt continue their promising start to the season, they will look to maintain their form and challenge for the title in the coming months. Their next match is against Borussia Mönchengladbach, a game that promises to be another exciting chapter in Frankfurt's 2023/24 Bundesliga journey.
