Hoffenheim suffers defeat at the hands of Frankfort
In a thrilling encounter at the PreZero Arena, Eintracht Frankfurt showcased their prowess, defeating TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 3-1. The win marks the club's first double victory in the Bundesliga season for 13 years.
The match started with Ritsu Doan, one of Eintracht's new signings for the upcoming 2025/26 season, taking centre stage. Doan scored a brace in the 17th and 27th minutes, with Jean-Matthieu Bahoya providing the assist for the second goal.
Elye Wahi, the new signing from FSV Mainz 05, impressed throughout the game, having a chance to extend Eintracht's lead to 3-0 but failing to convert from two meters. TSG defender Robin Hranac cleared the ball off the line to prevent Wahi from scoring.
Hoffenheim managed an offside goal but did not score a legitimate one. Grischa Prömel scored for Hoffenheim in the 90.+1 minute, but it was too little, too late for the visitors.
Eintracht Frankfurt had to do without striker Jonathan Burkardt due to back problems, while veteran Mario Götze was unavailable due to muscle problems. Oliver Baumann, the determined number 1 goalkeeper for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, was powerless to stop Doan's second goal.
In the second half, Can Uzun scored for Eintracht Frankfurt shortly after the break, finishing calmly after a pass from Doan. Tim Lemperle's shot landed directly in the arms of Eintracht Frankfurt's goalkeeper Michael Zetterer.
Ansgar Knauff missed a big chance for Eintracht Frankfurt, but the team's impressive performance was enough to secure the victory. With this win, Eintracht Frankfurt is seen by many experts as the sharpest challenger to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.
The new signings, Doan, Burkardt, Kristensen, and Zetterer, have made a significant impact in their first few games, with Doan scoring two goals and one assist so far. Burkardt has yet to find the back of the net, but the potential is there for the young striker to make a mark in the coming games.
With two wins under their belt, Eintracht Frankfurt will look to carry this momentum into their next match, aiming to continue their impressive run in the Bundesliga.
