Holiday season is on the minds of residents in Tortona as Christmas approaches.

The charming town of Tortona is gearing up for a festive holiday season, with the Chiodi Council successfully securing sponsorships to create a merry atmosphere that benefits the local economy.

This year, a Christmas parade is planned to wind through the historic centre streets, following a festive Christmas carriage. The traditional Christmas concert of the Accademia Perosi is set to return, along with various shows and performances.

The lighting of the Christmas tree will mark the official start of the holiday season, while the Christmas Village in Piazza Malaspina will once again be transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with Santa's house and the elves. The Civil Protection Association Gruppo Volontari Bassa Valle Scrivia is responsible for organising this magical scene.

An exhibition of Christmas Panaro, dedicated to the works in paper by the master sculptor of masks and marionettes, was a popular highlight last year, and is expected to return this season. A gospel concert and the traditional Avis banquet are also on the calendar of events, adding to the holiday cheer.

Local associations are joining forces to organise these festivities, with the Town Council seeking sponsors to support the Christmas initiatives. Companies or entities that participate will have their logo, brand, or name associated with the project's materials and communication tools, increasing their brand visibility within the community.

The minimum offer for the main partnership is 5,000 euros, but there are opportunities for smaller sponsors with a minimum offer of 1,000 euros. The deadline for submitting proposals is October 31.

Last year, the Christmas lights in the city streets and squares were lit at the end of November, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the holiday season. A living nativity scene was set up in the courtyard of the Centro Mater Dei, adding a touch of tradition to the celebrations.

The Town Council presented a calendar of solidarity events last year, demonstrating their commitment to giving back to the community during the holiday season. With the return of Tortona's Christmas events, it's clear that the spirit of giving and celebration is alive and well in this charming town.
