In recent times, Tesla dealerships have been facing an increase in vandalism not just within the United States, but globally. This surge in destructive acts appears to be in response to Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla.

The incidents range from the subtle, such as Tesla owners replacing their vehicle badges with those of other brands like Toyota and Mazda, to the more overt, with drivers displaying bumper stickers expressing their disdain for Musk and his perceived extremist views.

Flyers imploring Tesla drivers to sell their vehicles have been found on the streets, and some dealerships have reported being targeted with eggs and Mardi Gras beads. More serious incidents include an alleged arson attack on a Tesla dealership in Salem, Oregon, and a shooting at a dealership in an unspecified location on February 19.

A 41-year-old named Adam Matthew Lansky has been charged in connection with the arson attack in Oregon. Lansky, who was arraigned in federal court on Wednesday, is charged with illegally possessing an unregistered destructive device. The charges stem from an alleged incident on January 20, where Lansky allegedly threw Molotov cocktails at the dealership.

Lansky was arrested on Tuesday without incident, and a vehicle belonging to him was captured on surveillance video by a patrol car near the dealership. However, the person in the footage has not yet been officially identified.

Another individual, a woman in Colorado, was recently charged for tagging a Tesla dealership with words like "Nazi." A man in Massachusetts was arrested on Wednesday for vandalism, allegedly putting stickers depicting a Nazi-like salute on Tesla cars.

The vandalism against Tesla cars extends beyond the U.S., with reports of a decline in Tesla sales in Europe as Musk tries to influence the political landscape beyond America's shores. The figures don't capture the full extent of the damage yet, according to analysts.

In a bid to mobilize protests against Musk, the Tesla Takeover movement has been organizing demonstrations at Tesla dealerships across the U.S. A centralized webpage allows anyone to search for a protest near them.

The jobs report on Thursday showed layoffs spiked to their highest level since Feb. 2020, with employers cutting 172,017 jobs last month, a 245% increase according to CBS News. This economic downturn may further exacerbate the tensions surrounding Tesla and Musk.

As the situation continues to evolve, it is crucial to maintain a clear and factual understanding of the events unfolding. The investigations into the vandalism incidents are ongoing, and more information is expected to emerge in the coming days.
