Hops harvest celebrated in Split
The picturesque Spalter Gabrieliplatz will once again play host to two exciting events, the Hopfen-Zupfer Festival and the Hopfen-Bloder Festival, this coming September.
The Hopfen-Zupfer Festival, a competition, will kick off on Friday, September 5, with the reigning Hopfen Queen, Nina Salbaum, leading a lively Hopfenwanderung. The Hopfenwanderung, a traditional beer-themed procession, will set the tone for the festivities.
On the following day, Saturday, September 6, Nina Salbaum will officially open the Hopfen-Zupfer competition at the Spalter Gabrieliplatz. The competition, a highlight of the festival, will run throughout the day.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, September 6, the historic Saumarkt will host the Hopfen-Bloder festival, a separate event from the Hopfen-Zupfer Festival. The Hopfen-Bloder festival, not a competition, will provide a day of beer-themed celebrations.
It's worth noting that the Hopfen-Zupfer Queen for the upcoming festival has not been named at this time. The Hopfen-Zupfer and Hopfen-Bloder festivals are not competitions for the Hopfen Queen title.
Both festivals are free from sponsorships, endorsements, advertisements, and repetition on Sunday. They are purely beer-themed events designed to celebrate the region's rich brewing history.
So, whether you're a beer enthusiast or simply looking for a fun-filled weekend, the Hopfen-Zupfer and Hopfen-Bloder festivals promise an unforgettable experience. Make sure to mark your calendars for September 5 and 6, and join the festivities at the Spalter Gabrieliplatz and the historic Saumarkt.
