A single-family house in Wildon, a market town located in the Leibnitz district of Styria, was engulfed by flames on Thursday afternoon. The fire started in a garden hut and, due to strong winds, rapidly spread to the adjacent house.

The firefighting operations, which involved 16 vehicles and 95 personnel from eight volunteer fire departments, took approximately four hours to bring under control. A ban on entering the single-family house was promptly placed by the district fire investigator and responsible employees of the market town.

The Styrian Police Directorate reported the incident, and the L371 and the garden path in Wildon were closed to all traffic for around four hours. The cause of the fire in the garden hut remains unknown at this time.

Following the fire, the police conducted investigations and forensic examinations to determine the cause of the blaze. The uninhabited house was currently vacant, and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The fire department's swift response and the combined efforts of multiple volunteer departments helped to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby properties. The community of Wildon can now focus on assessing the damage and working towards rebuilding the affected house.
