The small town of Holthausen came alive with festivity on Sunday, as the Holthausen Rabbits celebrated the annual Altweiber festival at the Holthausen Center. The event, presided over by Rainer Fuhrmann, President of the Holthausen Rabbits, drew over 200 people who gathered to sing, sway, and enjoy the lively performances.

The day began with a captivating solo dance performance by Marie Lena, setting the tone for the festivities to follow. Michael Hermes and his band then took the stage, kicking off the program with their upbeat tunes. The Junior girls of the Holthausen Rabbits followed, showcasing their lively dance routines that had the crowd clapping along.

The Piccolos, Piccolinos, and Junior girls of the Holthausen Rabbits were not the only performers of the day. The "Reisholzer Quatschköpp" themselves, the group present and promoting at the Reisholzer Quatschköpp Parade, also took the stage to entertain the crowd. For further musical entertainment, De Fleech (alias Rainer Wahnwitz) and the duo DuBB graced the stage with their performances.

The Altbier Wikinger, including Werner Booms, were also present, adding to the festive atmosphere with their entertaining antics. A group called the "wet and merry maidens from Reisholz" also joined the festivities, contributing to the lively and joyous mood.

The society prepared drinks and refreshments for the event, ensuring that everyone had a chance to quench their thirst and satisfy their hunger. De Fleech's signature tunes and the Altbier Wikinger's antics had the crowd in high spirits, dancing and singing along.

The Holthausen Rabbits will join the Reisholzer Quatschköpp parade on Sunday before the Rosenmontag parade in town on Monday. The event, which has become a much-anticipated tradition in the town, was also attended by 'jecken' who preferred the quieter atmosphere in the neighbourhood, adding to the diverse mix of attendees.

The highlight of the day came when Lucy and Julia took the stage for a mesmerising duet, their harmonies resonating throughout the hall. The performance was a fitting end to a day filled with music, dance, and camaraderie.

As the sun began to set, the festivities at the Holthausen Center came to a close, leaving behind memories of a day well spent. The Holthausen Rabbits' Altweiber festival was a testament to the spirit of community and celebration that runs deep in the heart of Holthausen.
