HPE is making a significant stride in the realm of IT management with the introduction of new AI capabilities to its datacenter management platform Mist. The highlight of these new features is the Marvis AI assistant, an AI-powered tool designed to communicate directly with network administrators and solve problems in real time.

The Marvis AI assistant, using an agentic AI framework, offers expanded conversational troubleshooting capabilities. It provides real-time insights and autonomous remediation across wired, wireless, WAN, and application environments.

The AI assistant learns continuously from relevant telemetry data to become more efficient and solve problems faster. It collects telemetry data from various network components and applications, enabling it to provide intelligent analyses, context-based information, and precise solutions.

When asked questions like "Why is the Orlando location so slow?", the Marvis AI assistant could potentially respond with detailed, actionable insights. It's all part of the transition from reactive to proactive IT management, a shift that HPE believes these new capabilities will enable.

Rami Rahim, EVP, President, and General Manager at HPE Networking, described these new developments as a "big step towards truly autonomous operations." He further stated that the new features in Juniper Mist make the network a proactive partner for IT.

Significant performance and efficiency gains are expected from these new capabilities. They aim to increase transparency in network, storage, and compute areas, making the network a more active and efficient partner in IT operations.

Moreover, the Marvis AI Assistant provides evidence-based recommendations for quick resolution of identified issues. It can identify critical issues like DHCP errors, missing VLANs, or network loops, ensuring that problems are addressed promptly and effectively.

Rahim also mentioned that the new features aim to solve problems before they impact users. This proactive approach is expected to lead to a smoother, more efficient IT environment, where issues are fixed more quickly and network performance remains high.

HPE's acquisition of Juniper Networking is part of this broader strategy. The Marvis Actions Dashboard records every action taken by the IT department or the Marvis AI Assistant, ensuring transparency and accountability in the IT management process.

In the future, IT staff could communicate directly with the network and ask questions, potentially revolutionising the way IT management is approached. With the Marvis AI assistant, HPE is set to redefine IT management, making it more efficient, proactive, and user-friendly.
