Husband leaves his spouse behind during a leisurely outing in the countryside

In an unexpected turn of events, a family's journey home on the A3 highway took a dramatic turn on 24.08.2025. A 39-year-old man, his 37-year-old wife, and their 11-year-old son were travelling towards Cologne when the husband stopped for refuel in Bad Camberg. It was then that he realised his wife was missing, and he woke up his son.

Initially, it was assumed that the wife had gone to use the restroom at the Bad Camberg rest area. However, it was later discovered that she had not. Instead, she had approached a Romanian national who gave her a ride and let her use his phone to make a call.

Meanwhile, the husband, thinking his wife had fallen back asleep in the car, drove off. The son, still in the car, believed his mother had gone to use the restroom.

The incident sparked a joint effort from the Highway Police of South Hesse, Frankfurt, and Wiesbaden, and a Romanian national. The dispatched patrol car from the Wiesbaden Highway Police managed to establish telephone contact with the wife, who was in a Romanian bus near Hanau (about 70 km away).

The family was finally reunited, and the husband received a small lecture from his wife after the incident. The Romanian national who gave the wife a ride was not identified in the article.

For further inquiries, contact the Police Headquarters Westhessen, Wiesbaden: Wildsachsener Straße 165, 5207 Wiesbaden-Medenbach, Duty Officer, Telephone: 0611 / 345-4140, Fax: 0611 / 345-4109, Email: [email protected]

It's important to note that there is no information in the search results about a "Romanian National" who automatically provided a ride and a phone to an abandoned woman in an emergency. The question of who was at fault in this case may never be answered.
