Implementation Duties Delegated to the Commission Regarding the Programme

The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden recently announced a significant event that took place at the Fasanerie, an outstanding institution known for its nature pedagogical offers and climate education. The expert conference on climate education in early childhood was organised by CoRE-NRW, as part of a nationwide series of events aimed at promoting exchange between science and practice, particularly in child and youth welfare.

Approximately 50 early childhood education specialists gathered at the Nature Pedagogical Centre Fasanerie for the expert dialogue. The focus of the gathering was implementing climate protection, climate change adaptation, and sustainability in early childhood education.

State Secretary Manuela Strube expressed that early childhood education lays the foundation for sustainable thinking and responsible action. She emphasised the importance of integrating climate education in kindergartens and daycare.

Mayor Christiane Hinninger expressed her delight that the expert dialogue took place at the Fasanerie. She highlighted the institution's history of successful, careful, and cross-departmental preparatory work since the 1980s in the climate education landscape of Wiesbaden.

The expert dialogue aimed to help children understand and learn playfully how to protect the planet. Kerstin Jacobs from the Coordination Office Climate Education Landscape Wiesbaden stated that the event was part of a new statewide event series, with further dialogue formats planned as part of this series.

Networking of specialists with regional offers was another positive effect of the expert dialogue, which strengthens the quality of educational work. The HMSI, in cooperation with several local partners, organised the event.
