Royal Wedding in Liechtenstein: Princess Marie Caroline Marries Commoner Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer

In a surprising turn of events, Princess Marie Caroline of Liechtenstein, often referred to as "Europe's richest princess" by the Swiss tabloid "Blick", tied the knot with Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer, a Venezuelan-born investment manager, on Saturday.

The wedding ceremony took place in the grand cathedral of Vaduz, the capital city of Liechtenstein, in the presence of cheering citizens. The 28-year-old princess looked stunning in a long white dress adorned with intricate embroidery and puff sleeves.

Liechtenstein, a tiny country nestled in the heart of the Alps, is home to approximately 40,000 inhabitants. With a size of just 160 square kilometers, it is half the size of Bremen. Despite its modest size, Liechtenstein boasts a wealthy princely house, thanks to its bank, real estate, and forest ownership.

The current head of state of Liechtenstein, a constitutional monarchy, is Prince Hans-Adam II. In a departure from tradition, it was the commoner who married a princess, as stated by nobility expert Lisbeth Bischof. Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer, who is 34 years old, is an investment manager, making him the perfect match for the modern and independent Princess Marie Caroline.

Following the wedding ceremony, the celebration took place in the castle of the princely family. The event was a joyous occasion, marking a new chapter in the lives of the newlyweds and the princely family.

The princely house of Liechtenstein has always been known for its wealth and prestige. The groom, Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer, is joining a family with a rich history and a strong commitment to maintaining the country's traditions.

The father of Princess Marie Caroline is Alois, adding another layer of royalty to the union. As the couple embarks on their new journey together, they will undoubtedly continue to captivate the world with their love story.
