In Kamchatka, the individual identified as an entrepreneur was penalized for selling a contaminated egg to a consumer.

In a recent ruling, a 34-year-old woman from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky was sentenced to 3.5 years in a settlement colony for fraud. The case revolved around the sale of 20 kg of spoiled red caviar.

Last summer, the woman posted an online ad selling caviar at a reduced price. When a buyer expressed interest in purchasing 20 kg, she showed him a small sample of good-quality product. However, the defrauded buyer received poor-quality caviar instead.

The Kamchatka Regional Court upheld the verdict, finding it lawful and fair. The court classified her actions as fraud causing significant damage and revoked her suspended sentence due to her recidivism. The court also confiscated her smartphone, used to commit the crime, for the state.

The transaction involved a payment of 50,000 rubles. After receiving the money, she returned 2,500 rubles to the buyer. The woman, who was already serving a suspended sentence and had a deferred sentence for similar crimes, disappeared after the transaction.

Mitigating circumstances considered during the trial included the defendant having two minor children and having partially compensated for the damage. Despite these factors, the court decided on a real prison term due to her repeated offenses.

The woman attempted to appeal the verdict, requesting a suspended sentence. However, the court stood firm with its decision. As of now, the search results do not contain information about the name of the woman convicted of fraud involving spoiled red caviar in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky or the length of her sentence in a penal colony.

This case serves as a reminder for individuals to be cautious when making online purchases and to report any suspected fraud to the authorities.
