Obituary: Russell E. Edwards, Beloved Sales Engineer and Air Force Veteran, Passes Away at 94

Russell E. Edwards, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 94. Edwards, a career sales engineer for the Rockford Clutch Company in Loves Park, Illinois, touched the lives of many during his 94 years.

Born in 1931, Edwards grew up in a loving family and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin in 1953 with a degree in metallurgical engineering. After his graduation, he served as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force, where he honourably served his country.

Edwards met the love of his life, Mary Patricia Owens, in 1954, and the two shared 68 years of marriage. Together, they raised three children, and their family continued to grow with eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Edwards was an active member of his community and was well-known for his kindness and generosity. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Habitat for Humanity, an organisation close to his heart.
