In Switzerland, approximately 1,500 children participate in sports while being exposed to religious teachings centered around Jesus.
In the picturesque Swiss city of Bulle, from August 4 to 9, the 20th anniversary of Kids Games took place, a unique event that combines sports, fun, creativity, and biblical discovery for children aged between 7 and 14 from eighteen regions of French-speaking Switzerland.
The celebration, named "Time out Breathe", was designed as a "breath of fresh air" and aimed to bring about personal transformation through the love of the God of Jesus Christ. The event's show saw the participation of various artists, including worship music group funambulist Estelle Borel and Association of Artists of French-speaking Switzerland Lausanne Impact.
During the week, the children embarked on an exciting quest, led by lively performers, guided by a life-size scenery of a boat and lighthouse. The supposed treasure in this adventure was located at the bottom of a lake. The performers kept the children on the edge of their seats, leading them on a journey that emphasised the importance of teamwork, respect, friendship, and mutual help.
Throughout the event, participants were reminded that they are loved by God and encouraged to become responsible for their own lives. They were also reminded that they are not alone in their life's adventure. The Bible study time offered an opportunity to explore Bible stories and share the questions children may have.
Emmanuel Schmied, coordinator of Kids Games in French-speaking Switzerland, emphasised the event's mission to share hope and positive Christian values with children from all backgrounds. Kids Games aims to help children discover that they are loved by God and to grow in their understanding of His love and His plan for their lives.
The 20th anniversary celebration of Kids Games was a week filled with fun, adventure, and spiritual growth for the children who participated. It was a time to reflect on the past 20 years and look forward to the future, as Kids Games continues to make a positive impact on the lives of children in Switzerland.
