Increased activities anticipated in the city this coming Saturday (23.08.2025)

The Kuckucksgemeinschaft Altenritte e.V. is inviting all members, families, neighbors, friends, and guests to the Kuckucksfest in Altenritte, scheduled for August 23 and 24, 2025. This annual event is a significant part of the jubilee year "1250 years of Rittahe".

Marketplace Delights

The Open-Air Creative Market will take place in the city's market square from 10 am to 2 pm on both days. A variety of local businesses and committed groups will offer their unique wares, including:

Steinbilder C.Glaser-Steinmetz-Casa-Bella, selling handmade stone pictures for every occasion and greeting cards made of Kieselsteine.
Martina Stocker, offering jewelry design, gifts, and accessories.

Activities for All Ages

The Kuckucksfest 2025 offers a wide range of activities for all ages. Some of the highlights include:

The traditional Kuckuckstaufe taking place at 8:00 pm on August 23.
The duck race occurring on August 24 at 3:00 pm during the Kuckucksfest 2025. Prizes will be awarded to the first 36 ducks to cross the finish line and even the last duck.
A large children's bazaar taking place from 12:00 pm on August 24.
A cozy get-together with music taking place at 6:00 pm on August 24.
The log pulling competition taking place at 5:30 pm on August 23.
The log rolling competition taking place at 5:30 pm on August 23.
The Children's Market taking place on August 24, from 12:00 (setup from 11:30), in the covered Vereinshaus Altenritte. Participants can register by phone or email.

Sports and Community

The Kuckucksfest 2025 will also feature sports events, such as:

On August 23, KSV our city will host the Hessenliga newcomer FC Turabdin-Babylon.

The festival church service will take place on August 24 at 10:30 am. The official opening of the Kuckucksfest 2025 with the mayor will occur on August 23 at 4:30 pm. The Kuckucksfest 2025 ends on August 24 at 12:00 am.

Many committed groups, associations, and local businesses contribute to the Kuckucksfest 2025 with great actions, stands, and program points. The ID-Buzz of the Aktion heimat shoppen of the IHK Kassel-Marburg will be present at the market square at 11 am.
