Break-ins in Mettmann and Velbert: Police Investigating

In two separate incidents, unknown perpetrators have gained unauthorized access to premises in the towns of Mettmann and Velbert, Germany.

On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, between 3:00 PM and Wednesday, June 4, 2025, 5:45 AM, an office of a nursing home on Schulstraße in Heiligenhaus was broken into. The perpetrators forced open a window and searched the office for valuables, but it is not yet known what was stolen. An employee of the nursing home observed a suspicious man near the building late on Tuesday evening.

In the night from Wednesday to Thursday, June 5, 2025, a restaurant on Velberter Hauptstraße was broken into. Unknown perpetrators smashed a window between 9:45 PM on Wednesday and 5:45 AM on Thursday. No information is available on what was stolen from the restaurant.
