India and Russia had a setback in their positions following a summit with China, according to Trump's assertions.

In a recent social media post, U.S. President Donald Trump voiced his concerns about India and Russia seemingly aligning with China. The post, which included a picture of the three leaders together at a summit in China, implied that these countries were moving closer to China’s influence.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit was held in the city of Tianjin, China, where more than 20 non-Western leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, were present. Chinese President Xi Jinping also stood with his counterparts during the summit.

Trump's post came amidst his plans to talk to President Putin soon, as he has expressed frustration at the lack of progress in ending the ongoing war in Ukraine, which has been ongoing for more than three years since Russian forces invaded.

Despite his concerns, Trump later clarified that he did not believe the U.S. had lost India. On the contrary, Modi responded positively to Trump’s sentiments and assessment of their relationship, describing it as a "very positive ... forward-looking Comprehensive and Global Strategic Partnership."

However, Trump has cooled ties with New Delhi due to trade frictions and disputes. The Indian foreign ministry declined to comment on Trump's post, while the Kremlin representatives could not be immediately reached for comment. The Chinese foreign ministry also did not respond to a request for comment on Trump's post.

Interestingly, Putin and Modi were seen holding hands as they walked toward Chinese President Xi Jinping, a gesture that has been interpreted as a sign of camaraderie among the leaders. Despite Trump's expressed disapproval of certain actions by the Indian government, he has continued to express friendship towards Prime Minister Modi.

Trump's concerns about India and Russia's alignment with China come at a time when the U.S. is trying to maintain its global influence and balance its relationships with key players on the world stage.
