Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his deceased mother were subjected to verbal abuse by a Congress party leader. The leader later issued an apology.
In a recent turn of events, Mohammad Naushad, a local Congress leader and former National Secretary of the Indian Youth Congress, has issued an apology for the offensive remarks made during Rahul Gandhi's Voter Rights Yatra in Bitholi. The incident, which has since gone viral on social media platforms, involved the use of Hindi slurs against the Prime Minister and his mother.
Naushad, who was involved as an organiser in the rally, has stated that he was not present when the remarks were made. However, he has been quick to disapprove of the language used, suggesting that it may have been done by the opposition or by people with personal hidden motives.
The BJP has been swift to condemn the incident, with Sambit Patra, BJP MP and spokesperson, criticising the Congress party for the abusive language used against Prime Minister Modi at the Bihar rally. Patra stated that there are certain boundaries in a democracy, and they have been crossed in the Bihar rally.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan has also condemned the use of insulting language against Prime Minister Modi, comparing it to speaking like local goons. In response to the incident, the BJP has labelled the Congress party the "Gali Wali Party."
The incident has attracted hate and criticism from all over India. The Congress party is facing criticism for the abusive language used at the rally, with the BJP considering the language used as disturbing and a matter of great shame for the responsible party.
Naushad, who has been a party worker for 20 years and has never engaged in such cheap and disgraceful behavior, has attempted to defend the incident by stating that the party would not make such crude remarks against the Prime Minister. However, the damage has already been done, and the Congress party is facing a tough time to regain the trust of the people of India.
The BJP was about to post the viral video on its official Twitter handle but refrained from doing so. The incident has sparked a heated debate on the state of Indian politics and the need for politicians to maintain decorum and respect during public rallies.
The Congress party has yet to make a formal statement regarding the incident, but it is clear that they will need to address the issue head-on if they are to regain the trust of the Indian people. The incident serves as a reminder that politics should always be conducted with respect and decorum, and that there are certain lines that should never be crossed.
