Cannabis Farms Discovered in Residential Buildings: Ongoing Investigation in Heinsen, Weserstraße, and More

In a recent development, cannabis farms were discovered in residential buildings across several locations, including Heinsen, Weserstraße, Stadtoldendorfer Straße, and Lenne. The investigation into these incidents is ongoing.

Unknown perpetrators had made contact with the building owners via the internet and established a personal relationship before installing and harvesting the indoor cannabis farms. The extent of the equipment found at both locations suggests that the perpetrators were well-equipped and experienced in cultivating cannabis indoors.

Remnants of cannabis plants and extensive growing equipment were found during the searches conducted by the Holzminden police in August 2025. The public prosecutor's office in Hildesheim authorized the destruction of the seized items from the cannabis farms, which took place in September 2025. The dismantling and disposal of the cannabis farms occurred on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and Wednesday, September 3, 2025, with the support of the Technical Deployment Unit of the Braunschweig police.

The public prosecutor's office in Hildesheim is the primary point of contact for any media inquiries related to this ongoing investigation. For further information, you can contact the press office of the Police Inspectorate Hameln-Pyrmont/Holzminden. Stefanie Ockenfeld, Police Inspectorate Hameln-Pyrmont/Holzminden's press officer, can be reached at 05151/ 933-104, or via email at [email protected]. It is believed that the indoor cannabis farms in the residential houses were presumably established and operated by local criminal groups or individuals involved in illegal drug cultivation. The investigations are ongoing, and further details will be provided as they become available.
