Indore reveals: Congress Councilor Anwar Qadri Spends Time in Nepal with Second Spouse During Absence on the Run
In a significant turn of events, Anwar Qadri, a Congress corporator, has surrendered to the Banganga police station following allegations of property-related crimes and other offenses. Qadri's daughter, Ayesha, has been at the centre of the controversy, having provided shelter and financial assistance to him during his absconding period.
Qadri's legal troubles began when he was accused of providing financial assistance to his co-accused, Altaf and Sahil. Altaf and Sahil claimed that they were given money by Qadri to trap women from different communities. The process of securing Qadri's anticipatory bail was initially stalled due to Ayesha's efforts to secure it from the Supreme Court, but was halted after her arrest.
During his time on the run, Qadri stayed in Nepal with his second wife, Farhana. He also used a SIM card purchased under his own name to stay in contact with Ayesha and Farhana. Ayesha even paid for Qadri's hotel in Delhi during his absconding period.
However, there was no publicly known connection between Ayesha and Sushil Pandit, the India correspondent of the Nepali TV channel Aaj Tak, during Qadri's escape.
Qadri's legal woes are far from over, as the police are appealing for anyone who believes they have been a victim of a property-related crime or any other offense committed by Qadri to contact the Banganga police station. The investigation is ongoing, and Qadri's cooperation with the authorities will be crucial in determining the full extent of his involvement in the alleged crimes.
