Industrial Particle Cleaner Training Laboratory Launched by Dresden FEP
The Fraunhofer Institute for Electron Beam and Plasma Technology (FEP) has recently launched the Industrial Component Cleaning Learning Lab (LinTR), a state-of-the-art facility aimed at providing hands-on training for future experts in the complex field of industrial component cleaning.
This new learning lab, funded by the Fraunhofer Academy, offers training as either a three-day compact seminar or a professional development course. The collaborative effort between Fraunhofer FEP, Fraunhofer IPA, Fraunhofer IVV Dresden, and Fraunhofer IWS, has resulted in the development and implementation of these training opportunities.
At the heart of the LinTR learning lab is a multi-chamber cleaning system, which sets regional and national standards for aqueous ultrasonic cleaning. The system, consisting of six individually controllable tanks, each with a 100-liter capacity, allows for precise adjustment of cleaning processes for different types of contamination and components. The direction, frequency, and power of the ultrasound can be varied, ensuring optimal cleaning results.
The LinTR learning methods are focused on the coordination of all trades in planning cleaning steps for industrial component cleaning. This approach emphasises the necessity of planning cleaning steps with the coordination of all participating trades, as well as considering the entire process chain in industrial component cleaning.
A special test component in the lab contains different material surfaces, holes, edges, and screw connections similar to those found on real industrial components. This allows participants in the training units to find the optimal settings for the most effective cleaning of common contaminants.
The LinTR learning lab's interdisciplinary approach to training extends beyond the lab itself, with a modular further training concept and cooperating learning locations across the institutes. This ensures that participants receive comprehensive training, preparing them for the challenges they may face in the industry.
The project leader working on the development and implementation of the LinTR learning labs at Fraunhofer FEP is Dr. AndrΓ© Schroeder. His expertise and dedication have been instrumental in bringing this innovative training facility to fruition.
With the LinTR learning lab, the Fraunhofer Institute aims to set new standards in industrial component cleaning training, equipping the next generation of professionals with the skills they need to excel in this crucial field.
