Industrial software digital twin formulated by Dyssol Tec

In the vibrant tech scene of Hamburg, two local startups, Dyssol Tec and 3D Spark, are making waves in their respective fields.

Dyssol Tec, a startup based at dyssoltec.com, is collaborating with industry giants BASF and Evonik Industries on the development of their software. This software is designed to optimize production processes for solid products in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries. The software, a modular system with fifteen integrated process models for solid-state processes, aims to fill a gap in the industry, as sixty to seventy percent of chemical production processes involve solids, but most simulation programs focus on liquid-gas processes.

The Hamburg University of Technology (tuhh.de) has likely played a role in nurturing this innovative startup, as the H2 Startup Accelerator in Hamburg is known to be a breeding ground for groundbreaking startups in various industries, including technology and manufacturing. The H2 Accelerator's global reputation is further solidified by being recognised as a trailblazer in the field.

Dyssol Tec's software allows for the testing of certain changes in the production process through flow sheet simulations, enabling companies to save resources and improve product quality. Potential partners can be offered licenses for an extended version of the software tailored to their specific company, while an open-source version is intended to attract further industrial partners.

Meanwhile, 3D Spark, another Hamburg-based startup, has recently won a founder competition in the field of 3D printing. This victory suggests a growing interest in 3D printing technology in the city.

The federal government is also backing digital innovation in Hamburg, supporting the "Digital Harbor Twin" of Hamburg Port Authority. This project, along with similar initiatives in Leipzig and Munich, indicates a focus on digitalization and modernization in various industries, particularly the port industry.
