Tragic Death of Two-Month-Old Boy in Surajpur Attributed to Monkey Attack

In a heart-wrenching incident, a two-month-old boy lost his life under tragic circumstances in the village of Surajpur, Uttar Pradesh. Last Thursday, the village was shaken by the news of the boy's death, which has been linked to a monkey attack.

The incident occurred in the family courtyard, where the boy was resting while his mother bathed. Monkeys, known for their frequent raids on homes and fields in Surajpur, reportedly entered the house and took the infant. The boy was later found dead in a water barrel on the roof of the house.

Residents of Surajpur have been grappling with regular monkey invasions that cause damage to homes and injuries to people. Despite repeated complaints, they feel that government action against these invasions has been inadequate. The Surajpur Police Station is currently investigating the case.

The family did not inform the police about the child's death initially. However, the authorities stepped in the following morning after news of the tragedy spread. The police collected statements from relatives and neighbours, and inspected the home. Early findings of the investigation support the family's account. The body was sent for a post-mortem.

It is worth noting that similar incidents have been reported in Uttar Pradesh and other regions. The boy, who was in fragile health and had recently been receiving treatment at a trauma centre in Lucknow, was a victim of these recurring incidents.

The villagers reported seeing monkeys inside the house around the time of the boy's disappearance. The community is now demanding greater action from the authorities to protect them from these invasions and prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
