The city's initiatives are part of the larger intermunicipal project "Prima.Clima.RuhrMetropole.", aimed at creating eight experimental and innovative energy districts in the Ruhr Metropolitan Area by 2029. The project, which includes the "Prima.Clima.Kirchhellen" project, focuses on the heat sector and the defossilization of the energy and heat supply, expanding the existing district heating network, and promoting energy-efficient building renovation.
The "Prima.Clima.Kirchhellen" project is also supported by additional funding from KfW Bank and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which will be used for the creation of district concepts and renovation management.
Citizens can view plans and leave comments on the project's implementation through online participation, which is now open: Here it goes to the online participation.
The renovation management office is located at Kirchhellener Ring 86, 46244 Bottrop, and is open every first Thursday of the month from 2 to 6 pm. For appointments or further information, residents can contact the Klimaagentur Rhein-Ruhr at 02041 77394-15.
The implementation of the project in Kirchhellen is scheduled to be completed by 2029, marking a significant step towards a more sustainable and climate-friendly Ruhr Metropolitan Area.
