Let's Talk About Those Trophies

On February 22, the sixth Global Poker Awards will be broadcast live on PokerGO from Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, handing out more rewards than ever before – a whopping 38 trophies! Organizers have expanded the award categories for this year's ceremony. Five winners have already been crowned, and the remainder will be determined by the poker community. The majority of the awards have already been chosen by the industry's elite, but the public will get a chance to voice their opinions for Best Hand, Best Trophy, Best Live Stream, and Most Entertaining Player.

Award recipients encompass a range of categories, including Poker Player of the Year, Mid-Major Player of the Year, Female Player of the Year, Most Weeks at GPI #1, and PokerGo Tour Player of the Year. In addition to these recognized categories, special awards like The Hendon Mob Award, Charitable/Community Initiative, Poker Icon, GPI Award of Merit, and others will be bestowed upon worthy individuals.

Caitlin Comeskey: The Breakout Star

This year, Caitlin Comeskey has received four nominations for the prestigious Global Poker Awards. She was already a nominee for three awards last year and took home the prize for Best Short-Form Content Creator. Comeskey is up for Best X Personality, Best Short-Form Video Media Content, Peoples' Choice for Most Entertaining Player, and once again for Best Short-Form Content Creator.

Multi-talented Nominees in the Spotlight

There are several individuals who have earned nominations for three awards in this year's competition. They include Joe Stapleton, Marle Spragg, and Barry Carter. Stapleton is nominated for Best On-Air Talent, Podcast for "Poker In The Ears," and Book for his comic "Trapped." Spragg is nominated for X Personality, Best Short-Form Creator, and Short-Form Video. Carter is in the mix for Best X Personality, Book for "Beyond GTO," and Podcast as the beloved third wheel of "The Chip Race."

The 2023 Global Poker Awards honor those who have made an indelible impact on the world of poker.
