A fuel spill incident occurred on Tuesday morning on Windschläger Street in Offenburg. According to initial investigations, the spill was suspected to be due to insufficient cargo securing in a vehicle.
The trail of fuel residue stretched about 2.5 kilometers along a field path and a bike path, causing the road and the bike path to be contaminated. As a result, they had to be cleaned by a company.
The braking of the vehicle is believed to have caused the fuel to leak, creating a small fuel trail on a gravel path that led to the car. A witness observed a car driver with fluid dripping onto the road after braking.
The name of the driver involved in the incident has not been disclosed publicly. The Police Headquarters Offenburg is investigating the matter further, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact them at 0781/21-1211 or send an email to [email protected].
