International ministers under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) voice their opposition to Israel's proposed actions aiming to displacement of Gazan residents.
The foreign ministers of the Islamic countries, including the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), have reaffirmed their call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. They have urged Israel to lift all restrictions on humanitarian access and for international support to enable the Palestinian Authority to return to Gaza.
The recent military operations by Israel in Gaza have resulted in the killing of over 60,000 people and the injury of many more in the past two years. The foreign ministers have condemned these actions and called on the U.N. Security Council to ensure the protection of the Palestinian people and end the illegal Israeli occupation.
The foreign ministers have also demanded that Israel's flagrant violations of international humanitarian law be stopped and that those involved in potential ethnic cleansing and genocide be held accountable. They emphasized that Israel's illegal practices and violations are a direct threat to international law.
In addition, the foreign ministers have rejected Israel's policy of uprooting Palestinians from their land through military operations, siege, starvation, targeting civilians, and civilian infrastructure. They have labelled Israel's ground offensive in Gaza as part of "genocidal plans" and warned about massive Palestinian displacement and suffering.
Turkey, in particular, has strongly condemned Israel’s plans and actions aimed at displacing Palestinians. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone conversation with U.K. Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to discuss bilateral issues and recent developments in the Middle East and the war in Ukraine. Turkey has urged the international community to secure a ceasefire and criticized Israel’s expansionist policies, calling on Muslim countries to cooperate in security and crisis management against Israeli aggression.
The foreign ministers have also called on the global community to stop the further breaching of international law regarding the displacement of Palestinians. The realization of a Palestinian state on the basis of the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, remains the only solution, according to the foreign ministers. They have emphasized that the only path to peace and stability in the region is through the resolution of the Palestinian issue.
