In a significant development, high-level talks on resolving the Ukraine-Russia conflict have been underway, with Ukraine, Russia, and Turkey playing pivotal roles. On Tuesday, the Russian and Ukrainian foreign ministers, alongside Turkey's foreign minister as mediator, held talks to discuss the next steps for Ukraine. No other countries were explicitly noted as participants in the talks on Tuesday, according to the available sources.

The Ukraine-Russia meeting comes as Kyiv seeks backing from allies to enforce any potential peace deal. The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, met with US President Donald Trump in Washington on Monday, marking their best encounter yet, with less tension compared to their previous encounter.

Trump has also spoken with his Russian counterpart, and discussions on security guarantees for Ukraine have taken place. According to reports, Putin agreed to these guarantees, and the security will be provided by various European countries, with coordination from the United States of America.

Zelenskiy is ready to meet Putin in direct talks, and this would be the first face-to-face meeting between the two leaders since Russia's invasion of Ukraine nearly three-and-a-half-years ago. The potential meeting between Zelenskiy and Putin could potentially lead to a peace summit.

French President Emmanuel Macron has suggested Geneva, Switzerland, as a potential location for peace talks. Furthermore, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has agreed to a bilateral meeting with Putin within the next two weeks.

France and Britain are hosting a meeting with about 30 of Kyiv's allies to keep them updated on the decisions made and to start concrete work with the Americans. Any decisions regarding concessions on territory, including parts of the eastern Donbas region still under Ukraine's control, would be up to Ukraine to decide.

The Ukraine war, which has resulted in tens of thousands of casualties, has reached a virtual stalemate despite a few Russian advances. According to The Financial Times, Ukraine has undertaken to buy US$100 billion of US weapons, financed by Europe, in return for US guarantees for its security.

The meeting of Ukraine's allies took place yesterday to discuss the outcome of talks aimed at ending the war with Russia. The conflict, which has lasted for several years, continues to be a significant concern for the international community, and efforts to find a peaceful resolution are ongoing.
