On the evening of September 26, 2024, a traffic incident occurred on the A48, before the Bendorf exit, heading towards ADD. The accident involved an Opel and an Audi, with the Opel driver sideswiping the Audi.

According to reports, the Opel driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol content well over 2.0 per mille. As a result, the Opel driver was prohibited from continuing his journey, a blood sample was taken, and his driver's license was confiscated.

The Opel driver was later stopped and checked at the Urbacher Wald rest area on the A3, heading towards Cologne. Both drivers were able to pay the required amount and thus avoided being taken to the Koblenz prison. The accident resulted in minor property damage.
