Intoxicated man assaults spouse and law enforcement personnel
In the quiet early hours of Sunday morning, police in the Bavarian city of Ingolstadt responded to a disturbing incident of domestic violence.
At around 5:30 AM, officers were called to a location within the city, where they found a 54-year-old man under the influence of alcohol, who had physically assaulted his wife. The man, whose name remains undisclosed in the search results, also verbally and physically assaulted the responding officers upon arrival.
The man was taken into custody at the scene and will face charges for bodily harm against his wife, attempted battery, and resisting arrest. It has also been reported that the man will face charges for battery, as the incident involved a physical assault.
Two police officers sustained minor injuries during the incident but remain fit for duty. Despite the violent encounter, the officers were able to apprehend the man and ensure the safety of the victim.
