Introducing the First Web3 Laptop: Developers Unveil Planned Airdrop
European tech company Metavisio has announced its foray into the Web3 market with plans to develop the first Web3 laptop series. The project is being handled by Metavisio's subsidiary, Thomson Computing.
The upcoming laptop will run on a Web3 operating system, introducing a seamless Web3 experience for users. It will not be limited to a specific type of transaction, as it includes an integrated wallet for Web3 transactions.
For added security, the laptop will feature a Secure Enclave hardware key manager. This technology isolates cryptographic keys from the main processor, ensuring that sensitive data remains secure. The laptop will also be equipped with a cold storage wallet, supporting Bitcoin, XRP, Bittensor, and EVM-compatible networks.
Metavisio plans to introduce its proprietary Web3 OS by Q1 2025. A prototype of the Web3 laptop is expected to follow. The laptop's price range is expected to be between €499 and €2000, with three models planned, targeting educational users, gamers, and general consumers.
It's important to note that this will not be the first Web3 device in the market. In September, blockchain project XProtocol announced the first DePIN smartphone. By mid-2025, the Web3 smartphone Seeker (formerly Chapter 2) from Solana is expected to hit the market.
Metavisio is also planning to release its own token. Users can earn the token by completing tasks within integrated dapps, details on the airdrop are yet to be revealed.
While the technology used for the laptop's secure enclave is similar to that used by Apple, this information is not mentioned in detail in this paragraph. The laptop's specific models and their features will be unveiled in due course. Stay tuned for more updates on Metavisio's Web3 laptop series.
