The automotive world is abuzz with news about the Roewe W5 SUV, as images suggesting its production have been spotted at the factory. This development comes amidst a series of exciting advancements for SAIC's Roewe models.

Initially, it was anticipated that the Roewe W5 would make its debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November. However, the silver car, which was also seen inside the factory in November, did not appear at the show, leaving its debut uncertain.

The W5, if it goes into production, is expected to debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April. This SUV is significant as it is the first Roewe model to bear a named model since the brand's revival.

The W5 is based on the SsangYong Kyron, and it appears to be nearing completion. Pictures suggest that Roewe is working diligently on the W5, with improvements evident in its design, except for the spare wheel construction which seems to be a work in progress.

SAIC, the owner of Roewe, still holds 51% of SsangYong, which could explain the collaboration between the two brands. This collaboration could potentially lead to the production of a SsangYong-Roewe SUV.

Meanwhile, SAIC's Roewe models are receiving recognition with new records and launches. The Roewe D6, for instance, has set a new Guinness power consumption record for EV in China. The Roewe D7 NEV sedan, also produced by SAIC, is available in China at a starting price of 17,300 USD.

Moreover, the Roewe M7 PHEV, another SAIC-produced model, is now available for pre-sale at an affordable 13,700 USD, boasting a impressive 2,050km range.

It's important to note that the existence of the W5 is still uncertain, and the silver car, which was also spotted at the factory, is not directly related to the Roewe W5 mentioned earlier in this article.

Despite these uncertainties, the sightings of these vehicles at the factory suggest that Roewe is actively developing new models, and improvements are being made at SsangYong. These developments are sure to excite fans of both brands and the automotive industry as a whole.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Roewe W5 and other exciting developments from SAIC's Roewe and SsangYong brands.
