Investigation inquiry required for Syamsul's death after the second surgical report

The Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) and the police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the death of Allahyarham Syamsul. The case is being handled by the Major Crimes Investigation Department of Bukit Aman.

The investigation, which began following the first autopsy report suggesting the death was due to drowning, has taken a new turn with the second autopsy revealing signs of trauma that could potentially be the cause of death.

The AGC's role in this investigation is to ensure justice is served according to the law. They are focused on understanding the circumstances leading to the death and aim to find the best solution, including identifying the cause of death.

The police are reportedly still in the process of investigation, and a briefing will be given to them in the near future. In the meantime, the AGC is not yet specifying the cause of death for further investigation.

Additional evidence, including audio recordings, transcripts, and photographs, has been submitted by the family's lawyer to the police for the ongoing investigation.

It is important to note that the AGC's approach aligns with the principle "justice not only be done but seen to be done". The AGC and the police are committed to fulfilling their respective legal obligations and conducting a fair investigation.

The High Court in Shah Alam has allowed the exhumation of Allahyarham Syamsul's grave in Semenyih for the second autopsy. The family believes the cause of death was due to visible injuries and bleeding, not drowning.

The AGC has not yet decided whether an inquest will be held or charges will be filed. The prosecution authority will determine whether a legal proceeding concerning Allahyarham Syamsul's death will be initiated.

The AGC has not set a specific timeframe for the completion of the investigation. They are working towards finding a resolution for the deceased's family and ensuring that justice is served.
