Investigation launched against foreign vehicle driver responsible for fatal accident of two adolescents in Kuban region
On September 8, 2022, two separate tragic incidents occurred on Mira Street in Armavir, each involving a Lada vehicle.
In the first incident, a collision took place between a Lada Largus and a KamAZ truck with a trailer. Sadly, the driver and passenger of the Lada, along with two 13-year-old teenagers, lost their lives at the scene. Three other passengers from the Lada were rushed to the hospital.
The driver, a resident of the Slaviansky District, is believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing the accident. The location of the incident was an unregulated pedestrian crossing, and the driver now faces up to seven years in prison for violating traffic rules and regulations.
In a separate incident later that day, a driver of a Lada Granta hit three pedestrians at another unregulated crossing. The driver, a 25-year-old individual, was detained by the police. However, there is currently no information available about the driver's charges or the condition of the pedestrians involved in this incident.
Meanwhile, the Investigative Department of the Russian Interior Ministry for the city of Armavir has opened a new criminal case against another driver of a Lada (different from the Lada Granta mentioned above). The driver was taken to the police station for further investigation.
These incidents serve as a grim reminder of the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations to ensure the safety of all road users. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected by these tragic accidents.
