In the city of Kokchetav, an ongoing investigation has been initiated by local prosecutors into unfinished multi-apartment buildings. The case is specifically linked to buildings that were constructed using budget funds intended for socially vulnerable segments.

According to the report made by the regional supervisory authority, over 90 million tenge in damages are still associated with these uncompleted buildings, which were initially reported in 2023. Despite the transfer of funds, the buildings were not completed as intended.

The investigation alleges that the former head of the city's construction department, who has not been publicly named, is responsible for signing acceptance certificates for the unfinished buildings. The prosecutor's office made this statement during the inspection.

Two buildings, with a total of 140 apartments, are under investigation. The case involves the use of one's official position, and a criminal case has been opened under the article on embezzlement or misappropriation of entrusted property on a large scale.
