iPad Air's potential imminent debut, featuring a significant enhancement
Apple is gearing up for the launch of its next-generation iPad Air, with the tech giant traditionally hosting an event every spring. According to reports, the new tablet is expected to debut between February and May 2025.
One of the most anticipated features of the upcoming iPad Air is the new Magic Keyboard. Leaks suggest that this accessory might come with a larger glass trackpad and a thinner, lighter design. Additionally, it's rumoured to incorporate some features of the iPad Pro keyboard, such as a row of function keys with shortcuts.
The current iPad Air, launched in May 2024, already boasts the powerful M2 chip. It's expected that the next iteration will be equipped with Apple's M3 chip, a claim supported by a document leaked by Evan Blass, a reliable source in the tech industry.
Another exciting rumour surrounds the display of the M3 iPad Air. Leaks suggest that it will feature a higher refresh rate LCD display with a new liquid motion panel fixed at around 90Hz. However, this upgrade has not been confirmed by any other sources, and it would be a nice addition if it materialises.
Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has also predicted the early 2025 launch of the next iPad Air. Furthermore, a recent leak has further confirmed that the iPad Air will indeed achieve M3 performance in its next iteration.
In addition to the new Magic Keyboard, a document leaked by Evan Blass also references the "apple-ipad-air-13-(m3)" and the "apple-ipad-air-11-(m3)", suggesting the next iPad Air will come in two sizes.
As for the sales start date, given Apple's typical release patterns, it's likely that the next iPad Air will be announced or released around the mid to late September 2025 timeframe. This could coincide with the launch of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 on September 15, 2025, or shortly after.
It's important to note that while these rumours and leaks provide insight into what we might expect from the next iPad Air, they should be taken with a grain of salt. Until Apple officially announces the product, nothing is confirmed.
Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the expected launch of the next-gen iPad Air!
