In the arid expanse outside Tuscon, a new two-minute ad for Lucid Motors titled "Driven" has made its debut. The ad, directed by James Mangold, features none other than Timothée Chalamet behind the wheel of a Lucid vehicle.

Chalamet, a known superfan of the Knicks basketball team, has had previous experience with Lucid Motors. He had been driving a Lucid vehicle before an accident, and his positive real-world experience with their craftsmanship led him to eagerly collaborate with the company for this project.

The ad is a thrilling ride, with Chalamet and a wedding-gown-clad companion (Larsen Thompson) infiltrating a fictional top-secret base, stealing a Lucid Gravity SUV, and evading police in pursuit. The ad's soundtrack features a song by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, adding to its energetic atmosphere.

Chalamet, now 29, enjoys driving and compares it to the subway but on wheels. His commitment to Dylanology remains strong, as he considers "The Times They Are A-Changin'" his go-to driving album. The ad also features Chalamet in a leather jacket, briefly engaging with a motorcycle.

Unfortunately, Chalamet's Lucid vehicle was not so lucky. It met with an unfortunate incident at Crypto.com Arena, but fear not, as the Lucid Gravity SUV was safely returned by the character played by Oscar Isaac after being stolen by Chalamet and Thompson.

On a lighter note, Chalamet's next feature film, "Marty Supreme," is a table tennis dramedy produced by A24 and is set to release in theaters on Christmas Day. With his passion for driving and acting, it seems Chalamet finds the collaboration with Mangold a "proof of concept" and expresses excitement about the possibility of working together on a car movie in the future.
