Jerusalem Shooting Labeled as 'Natural Response' by Hamas to Israeli Actions

In a recent statement, Hamas, the Palestinian political and militant group, warned that plans to occupy Gaza or disrespect the Al-Aqsa Mosque "will not go unpunished." This statement came in response to ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza and Jerusalem.

The operations at the Ramot Junction in Jerusalem were targeted at the depth of the occupation's security, confirming the determination of the Palestinian resistance to continue fighting against the occupiers and Zionist aggression. This determination was further demonstrated by the shooting attack at the same location, which resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to 15 others.

Hamas praised the attack, framing it as a direct response to Israeli crimes and a "genocidal war" against Gaza and Palestinians. The attack was carried out by two Palestinian resistance fighters in northern Ramot. However, the statement from Hamas did not provide any specific details about the planned actions that would not go unpunished in relation to Gaza or the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The attack at the Ramot Junction also resulted in the deaths of the attackers. The two Palestinian attackers involved in the shooting originated from the villages of Qubeibeh and Qatanna.

The Israeli military operations in Gaza since October 7, 2023, have resulted in the deaths of over 64,000 Palestinians, with more than 162,000 reported injuries. In Gaza alone, 393 Palestinians, including 140 children, have died of hunger due to blockades imposed by Israel. Furthermore, more than 9,000 Palestinians are reported missing due to Israeli actions.
