The city of Braunschweig is gearing up for its annual STADTRADELN event, which will take place on Sunday, September 7, 2023. This community-driven event, organised by the Klima-Bündnis e.V. association, aims to promote cycling as a fun, healthy, and environmentally friendly activity.

The city is proud to be the organiser of this event, with support from partners and sponsors such as Braunschweigische Landessparkasse and Fahrrad Hahne. Other notable partners and sponsors include Denn's BioMarkt, BLSK, Fahrrad Hahne, Fitnessland, Schloss Arkaden Braunschweig, Spielwende, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Steigenberger Parkhotel Braunschweig, Swapfiets, Überland, Volksbank Brawo, and Volkswagen Financial Services AG.

Since its first participation in 2017, Braunschweig has been collecting kilometers every year for STADTRADELN. In 2024, an impressive 8,463 cyclists covered a total of 1,543,648 kilometers in the event.

This year, families, friends, school classes, companies, clubs, and entire neighbourhoods are invited to participate together. Whether you're an experienced cyclist or just starting out, everyone is welcome to join. Participants can join an existing team or create a new one. Registration for STADTRADELN 2023 is open for individuals living, working, studying, or belonging to a club or university in Braunschweig.

All participants who have cycled at least 30 kilometers will be entered into a raffle for the main prizes of an e-bike and a trekking bike. The city will also honour the cyclists with the most kilometers at the end of the action period with various prizes.

The city is encouraging participation under the motto "For the climate, for Braunschweig, for you - Ride a bike". Every kilometer cycled, whether on a bicycle, e-bike, or handbike, contributes to the total. So, whether you're commuting to work, running errands, or simply enjoying a leisurely ride, you can make a difference.
