Charlie Woods Makes History with Hole-in-One at Junior Players Championship 2025

In a thrilling turn of events at the Junior Players Championship 2025 held at TPC Sawgrass, Charlie Woods made history with a hole-in-one on the 177-yard third hole during the final round. This remarkable achievement echoes his hole-in-one at the PNC Championship last year.

Woods, who was seven-over through 36 holes, initially struggled in his final round, with a run of three bogeys in four holes between the 11th and 14th holes. However, he managed to arrest his sliding momentum with a birdie at the par-4 sixth hole.

The hole-in-one was captured on video by a fan, showing Woods repairing his pitch mark and collecting his golf ball before acknowledging the crowd with a brief wave. Interestingly, another player, Guus Lafeber from The Netherlands, also recorded a hole-in-one at the eighth hole during the same final round.

Despite the hole-in-one, Woods gave two strokes back at TPC Sawgrass' very next hole, resulting in a double-bogey six. He ended up giving a total of three strokes back in his final round, with a bogey five at the second hole. Nevertheless, Woods signed for a 72 in his maiden appearance at the Junior Players Championship.

Miles Russell, the leader during the final round, ultimately emerged as the winner. Woods' seven-over total left him just outside of the top-30 in the 78-player field. The final round of the tournament took place at TPC Sawgrass' Stadium Course.

Despite the ups and downs, Woods' hole-in-one on No. 3 on August 31, 2025, added his name to the #JrPLAYERS history books. Besides him, Miles Russell also made history at the event, although there is no indication that he also scored a hole-in-one.

As the dust settles on the Junior Players Championship 2025, the spotlight remains on Charlie Woods, who demonstrated his potential with his incredible hole-in-one. The golfing world eagerly awaits to see what the future holds for this young prodigy.
