In the heart of Kamchatka, the Regional Hospital named after Lukashovsky has been making significant strides in the medical field. Last year, the institution welcomed 24 doctors, including anesthesiologists, endoscopists, and surgeons, who worked on shifts to address the staff shortage.

Among these newcomers are interns who have completed their first year of clinical residency and passed intermediate certification, allowing them to work under the guidance of mentors. As of now, approximately 800 people work at the hospital, including over 130 doctors and around 320 medical nurses and brothers.

The hospital's management, led by Chief Physician Andrei Kisliakov, is actively working to improve working conditions to attract and retain medical staff. Competitive salaries are provided for doctors working on shifts, and additional incentive measures have been introduced, offering up to 300,000 rubles in compensation for those who have worked for six months.

These efforts have paid off, as four of the shift workers decided to stay and live in Kamchatka. The hospital has also started a targeted education program, with nine specialists who have completed their residency expected to begin working at the regional hospital in 2025. In the first two months of 2025, another five specialists arrived at the hospital. Currently, five such interns are working at the hospital.

The hospital's management continues to focus on improving working conditions and attracting new specialists to ensure high-quality medical care for Kamchatka residents. Changes in legislation since last year have made it possible to attract medical interns for work at the Kamchatka Regional Hospital.

Looking ahead, the institution plans to start training specialists in anesthesiology, ophthalmology, and oncology in 2025. Among the in-demand specialties at the hospital are surgery, cardiology, anesthesiology, neurology, therapy, radiology, traumatology, and orthopedics.

The Kamchatka Regional Hospital is not only providing essential healthcare services but also fostering a welcoming environment for medical professionals, contributing to the overall well-being of the region's population.
