In an update to the ongoing search, the police have confirmed that the 25-year-old man from Wiesbaden, who was initially reported as missing, has been found safe and well. The search, which was conducted by the Police Headquarters Westhessen and the Police Directorate Wiesbaden, has now been discontinued.
The head of the Polizeipräsidium Westhessen, Björn Gutzeit, led the search efforts. Gutzeit, who is currently in charge of Westhessen, took over from Christian Vögele, who is moving to lead Polizeipräsidium Südhessen on October 7, 2025.
